So often we are encouraged to live life up against our hard edge... to remove the space and the doubt that surrounds us.
In our practice this can manifest as a need to always push into a stronger and stronger stretch, or activate more musculature. But what would it mean to rest right in the middle? To trust that our deepest core and all of its projections know exactly what to do, and exactly what we need.
This two part weekend explores the boundless organic energy we access when we learn how to trust our deep core, and let ourselves move from that place in the poses, free from the exhaustion of layering our expectations, our desires and our egos over the practice.
We will consider in detail what it means to work from a neutral alignment, and how the movements of the spine and the myofascial lines foster unity in our bodies. We will consider how using our deep core musculature relates to, and creates both physical and emotional stability. Sequences will also delve into the mechanisms of pranayama, and the movement of prana that can aid balance in the nervous system, so that we can fully settle into our centre, and the bliss that resides there.
