Tomorrow (June 21st) will mark the solstice, the longest day of the year and the beginning of summer.
On this day, extra light is shone on our lives. It is an invitation to be mindful for, and grateful for everything that is abundant in our lives, and simultaneously, an invitation to see more clearly what is truly there. Alongside the the world around us, we are called on to bloom, to open, to be vibrant and yet. This is a celebration of the solar energies, and the spirit of fire. A time to appreciate the exuberance of the natural world.
Esther opened the summer solstice despacho with her visit this past weekend, and all week we have watched it grow with gifts from nature and folded up wishes and intentions. We will be sealing this gift on Thursday afternoon, and taking it to be burned as a sign of a gratitude, and an offering back to nature.
For those of you that haven't yet contributed there is still time, although, for those of you that will be unable to, then the solstice is the perfect time for your own personal celebration. Traditionally, this was a time for feasting, for lighting fires and dancing into the night, although, if you are in the mood for something a little more low key then the simple act of lighting a candle, and surrounding it with fallen petals can be the perfect testament to your gratitude and your intention.
However you chose to mark this turning of the seasons, take time to reflect. Notice the seeds that are beginning to blossom, notice the fruits that are beginning to form, and reflect honestly, on where new efforts, or a different tact might be needed for you to continue growing into your most vibrant self.
