How to Become a Person of Integrity: The Ethics of Yoga Embodied.
At it’s best, yoga asana helps us learn about the underlying ethical principles of yoga so that we can realize them not in an intellectual fashion, but in an embodied way. In this weekend workshop we will go over the eight limbs of yoga, and begin to explore the yamas and the niyamas, and feeling for their presence in our asana work. We will look for the ways that these underlying principles show up in Forrest Yoga, often not by their original names. This workshop will help you identify ethical themes in your yoga practice, and to begin to observe their workings in your life off the mat.
Sunday, 10am until 1pm
The Head and the Heart
The head and the heart contain their own distinct virtues and treacheries. In this back-bending class we will ex- plore the energies of the tow and the physical relationship between them and the channel connecting them: the neck. You will leave with a clearer path from the head to the heart—and the heart to the head—so they can better partner for your highest good. Sunday
Sunday. 2pm until 5pm
Adore Your Body. Discover Session.
This session revolves around the theme of Erica’s upcoming book, and is a rich discussion, in which we will identify what is the obstacle to Adoring the Body, how you want to feel in your own skin, and conclude with at least one actionable step you can take forward towards that goal.
