So, you have an aversion to trying yoga inversions. Then why not change your perspective and try this fun, lighthearted workshop and banish that fear of face planting once and for all!
Our workshop will begin with some appropriate warm up stretches and forward folds, to open up the body get used to the head being lower than the heart. Don't worry, we won't be attempting a handstand straight off the bat! We will briefly look at some the yoga asanas that can be practiced easily to develop stronger arms and shoulders, deepen our core awareness and lengthen muscles and tendons to help us feel more confident, strong, and stable when we go upside down. we will move on to breaking things down into manageable sections and you will soon discover that many inversions use the same fundamental principles. Then is just a matter of applying these principles and attempting some of those illusive inversions such as Forearm Stand, Shoulder Stand, Feathered peacock, Headstand and yes... maybe even... a Handstand! If there is time we can practice the Crow arm balance to see how this can transition into a headstand.
Go on, push your boundaries; you will laugh at yourself but you will also grow your confidence and give yourself access to these empowering poses.
You will need to have practiced some yoga in order to get the most from this workshop, but other than that just bring a smile and an eagerness to try. I will even give you some notes for you to take so you can continue your practice at home!
