Creatively Conscious - Goal Setting & Journal Making Workshop.

Creatively Conscious - Goal Setting & Journal Making Workshop.

Join Visual Artist Yvette Hawkins and Creative Self-Development Mentor Claire Newton for an afternoon workshop to ignite and add purpose to your Spring Time season.

Using traditional book making techniques, Yvette will guide you through how to make a series of seasonal journals with beautiful paper based material.    Learn a book binding technique you can use again and again to make beautiful notebooks for gifts for you or your loved ones.

Claire will then lead a workshop and ceremony on how to frame and implement your goals and aspirations for the Spring season ahead focussed specifically on creativity, productivity and wellbeing.

In your new white space you’ve created you can put pen to paper and sketch out the story of your conscious goals for Spring 2019 and beyond.

Whether it’s starting a new hobby, picking up an old one, self-care activities, space to journal each day, carving out time for a regular meditation practise, daily rituals – you can decide what your journal will become and bring it to life as the flowers start to bloom for Spring.

£45; includes tea and cookies, all materials to make journals and a gift box and a set of self-development worksheets.

About Creatively Conscious

Claire works as a self-development mentor for creatives and artists.  She is partner to a yoga teacher called Manos and they live together with their little boy in 100 year old home by the sea.  Claire is passionate about a low waste and creatively charged life, community connection and bringing arts and wellness to children, young people and adults.

Yvette is a visual artist working across textiles, paper sculpture, theatre and installation. Yvette's work is rooted in traditional skills (eco dyeing/origami/ book binding) and bringing them into the present day and giving a contemporary twist.

Yvette's mixed heritage of Korean/UK plays an important part in her artistic practice exploring disconnection and belonging in relation to physical, social and cultural boundaries.

Yvette studied textiles at Glasgow School of Art and Fine Art at Newcastle University and has worked as a freelance artist and project manager since 2008.
